- Films
Explore 42 films, grouped by look: colour negative, colour reversal, black-and-white and print. Most use published manufacturer data; others are reconstructed from handbooks and specifications. Negatives are printed onto a print film, as for a cinema release print. Choose formats from Super 8 to 35 mm.

- Controls
- Shape exposure, push and pull, grain, halation, bloom, sharpness, gate weave, flicker and vignette. Turn the effect off to compare with the original, and save favourite settings as presets.
- Video
- Trim, crop to a film gate and render several clips in one go as SDR video in MP4: HEVC (H.265), or H.264 on phones without an HEVC encoder. The original audio is kept. HLG HDR video is converted to SDR (HLG needs Android 13 or later); PQ (HDR10) video is not supported.
- Photos
- Work with HEIC and JPEG photos, then render them as JPEG.
Free, or Ashigrain Pro.
- Free
- Your first five renders are watermark-free at any resolution. After that, renders at 480p stay watermark-free, with a maximum long edge of 854 pixels. Ashigrain Pro removes the limit.
- Ashigrain Pro
- Render videos and photos at full resolution with a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription. Eligible new subscribers get a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan. Google Play shows your local price; manage or cancel your plan in your Google Play subscriptions.
- Mac licence
- The app uses its own Ashigrain Pro purchase, separate from the Mac plugin licence. An Ashigrain account is not required.
Requirements and rendering.
- Devices
- A 64-bit Arm phone running Android 10 or later, with a Vulkan 1.1 graphics processor.
- Rendering
Film rendering is heavy work for a phone, so long or high-resolution clips take time to render.
Renders run while Ashigrain is open: if you leave the app, a render pauses and continues when you return. If the phone gets too hot or runs low on memory, a render pauses and continues when it recovers.

Your photos and videos stay on your phone, with no account, sign-in or data collection. The system photo picker shares only the items you choose. Read the Privacy Policy.
